Spring, 1986. Chornobyl explosion unsettles the daily life of a small village in western Finland. That summer, Mimi, a new girl who just moved to the village enters 15-year-old Mariia’s life shaking it up. 20 years later, Mariia goes back home to take care of her sick mother, and memories start rising to the surface.

Inari Niemi (born 1978) studied in Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, graduating in 2010. She has directed the feature documentary ROBIN (2012), two light-hearted drama features KESÄKAVERIT (2014) and JOULUMAA (2017), and the drama series "My Husband's Wife" (Yle, 2022). Niemi was also one of the directors in the "Force of Habit" anthology (2019) produced by Tuffi Films.
